Wolf hybrid pups for sale

Wolf hybrid puppies are now one week old and doing very well, they are growing rapidly, they seem to grow at a far quicker rate than our normal wolf dog puppies.
Camouse is ok, she has got used to Breeze being next door with her pups.

Idaho has now come into season so all being well we should get a mating with her and Coosa soon.

Sunday was a dry but windy day until the evening when the rain came in very fast, thankfully I only had two groups left to get in so I didn’t get too wet.
Monday was busy with people looking at Wolf dogs and Labradoodle pups.
All the puppies are doing well and Camouse was even happy to go out for a short walk.
A nice dry day so everyone was out for a long time and finishing late was not too much of a problem.
Molly our little black doodle who was in with our last litter of hybrids was homed today so I have a little more space in the house for my new poodle girl.

Cito is moulting really badly and the house is covered in fluffy undercoat so I spent an hour brushing her, which made a nice mess in the yard.

Tuesday was busy with several hours power washing and lots of visitors viewing and purchasing dogs.
I had some spare time in between visits to go out and play with Coosa before he came in for his dinner, which was nice after a long day.

Wednesday morning went well we finished in good time.
I had a second visit from a police dog handler looking at a pup from Camouse, they had been to the pub to see Lupus, one of our hybrids from a previous litter and totally fell in love with the breed.
This will be a fantastic home for one of these puppies as the couple has many years experience with police dogs.
Camouse was very happy to let them sit in the kennel and observe the puppies feeding.
The afternoon was easy, everything went very smoothly and then we went off to training. Peaches did well, Kate handles her well as she is a little bit of a madam.
C was great I couldn’t have asked for anymore from her, everything went well from the start even the travelling, as tonight is the first time I have fed her before travelling as she was always sick before.
After training we went and picked up my new Cocker spaniel bitch called Abadabi, she is beautiful, I am hoping to introduce her to the labradoodle pack tomorrow as I feel she would benefit from being outside as that group get more exercise than the house dogs especially in the very wet weather.
All the house pack were fine when we came home with her except Cito was not too impressed but that should not be a problem in a few days time.
Thursday was good the weather looked like it might turn wet but managed to hold off until late afternoon.
I spent some out in the field taking a few pictures and brushed a couple of the wolf dogs.
Thursday evening was brushing Cito and C then ear cleaning on the little dogs.
Friday was good our last Cockapoo puppy went to her new home.
Kate finished off Coosa’s pen and drying the rest of the pens while I went and did the dreaded shopping.
Late morning Coosa had gone lame on his back leg this made him grumpy so he just lay out in the field and would not come down while I was playing with Lycan and Taska.
I went up and sat with him for a while and could not find any thing to be too much of a problem, I think maybe he has just bruised his foot but Kate would come in early on Saturday so I can take him to the vets if need be.
Wendy and Brian turned up for a surprise visit on Friday evening, which was nice; it got me out of doing the hoovering.
We had a nice Chinese and a chat for an hour before they went home.
Saturday morning Coosa seemed to be fine so that saved a trip to the vets.
We got all the kennels cleaned and then did a bit of swapping around.
Lobo and Koko have both been getting above them selves lately and they are starting to bully Tory and Tarna, my two Saarloos girls, I thought it was about time they learnt some manners.
Lobo has moved in with Matzi and Eba.
Koko has gone in with Bobby, Starr and Siren, this has quietened her down somewhat.
Rainn, Roka, and A’Lupa have gone in with Tory and Quilla so hopefully this will also make cleaning quicker as this means we have one less pen to do now.
After moving everyone it started to rain heavily so I spent the next 3 hours power washing and got fairly soaked myself.
Koko decided she was going to bully Bobby and Starr so after getting fed up with her being horrid I put her in with her mum Kiro for a couple of hours, that seems to have improved her, she has now gone back in with Bobby and Starr and is behaving in a more civilized manner.
After a long day and a puppy going in the evening it has been a really long day
Our last Labradoodle girl from Saffi has gone tonight, so just two boys left to go from that litter.
Sunday morning after I have finished cleaning I am off to look at another Cocker spaniel bitch then out to lunch with mum.
Kate will do the dogs while I am out.

Timber wolf hybrid pups just born pups can be viewed on web cam just click on the link.

http://wolfzone.info/index.php?page=webcam1.html

Last Saturday their was a dramatic change in Quannahy’s mood first thing in the morning I found she had lost three pups and then I saw the fourth, he was in the corner of her box and had been dismembered.
This was very rare behavior but not the first time I had seen this over the years, all the same very unpleasant for Quannahy and us.
This gave a clear indication that she was not happy and did not want to raise the pups.
I rang Shaun and he came over to see how we could sort things out.
The plan was for Shaun, Isla, Kate and I all to split shifts doing the dogs and one staying with Quannahy until the next litter of labradoodle pups were due to be born in the coming week.
While Shaun was here Isla phoned up and said she had a strange feeling that Camouse my hybrid was in pup, I was a little surprised at this, as I had seen her the previous week and she did not look in anyway like she was in pup. This would be ironic as Camouse had been planned to be mated, but certainly had showed no signs of coming into season.
Shaun went back to look at the bitch and bring Isla back here for the weekend to help out.

Shaun rings up and said we are on our way back and Camouse is with us, I then moved my poodle out with her last puppy and got the area ready for Camouse.

When Shaun arrived and I felt her she just felt solid like a ball, she had not dropped or given any real indication of being close to whelping.

Shaun looked after Quannahy while we went out and cleaned the kennels and exercise the dogs, Isla gave us a hand outside to get done quicker.

Even with us all looking after Quannahy we then lost a further two pups as she squashed one and the other one dehydrated and she really did not want to feed them.

On Sunday evening Camouse started to howl and Shaun said I bet she is about to have a pup, as his female wolf would give a low howl just before she whelped.

We sat watching her on the camera in the house and within half an hour she had her first pup all was well and the pup was big and healthy, the second pup took a really long time so I gave her an injection and got the second one without to much of a problem, again waiting for the third pup was like an eternity so two more injections and then we had three big healthy pups.

As Camouse is a very laid back bitch and fazed by nothing it was hard to judge that something was wrong, I told Shaun I felt she was not right.
I went off for five minutes to do something and when I went back in Shaun said no she is not right, something feels wrong now even for her, so we tried again to find the outline shape of the next pup
I could not find a defined pup when palpitating her uterus, after ringing ahead to the vet and arranging how we would all plan our day with Shaun and Isla doing their packs and Kate sorting out here I went off to the vets with Kirsty to get a caesarian on Camouse.

A C-section is normally a very straightforward procedure and we just accept this can happen, its no real drama.

Well this one turned out not to be so straight forward, after Gavin had made the first incision and could not move the uteri horn to be able to remove the pups I started to feel something was not going to go as smoothly as I had anticipated.
After opening the stomach from end to end Gavin gently rolled out the first uteri horn and said I don’t like this its so unusual, the he took the next side out which was extremely difficult as it appeared not to want to come out at all.
This was the strangest thing, the uterus had twisted around four times and had to be unraveled, the dead pups were removed and Gavin took out one uteri horn leaving Cumouse with only one side left to carry any future puppies if we wanted to breed her again in the future.

It is of very little importance if she can only carry a small number of pups in the future, its thanks to Isla she has a future.

The priority was the health and well being of Camouse.
When she was being stitched up I went for a bit of me time outside for a coffee and reality check with a friend on the phone.
Sometimes things just happen that are out of our control, we just have to deal them calmly and carry on, there is usually an upside to most things, you just have to find it and ours was had it not been for Isla’s vigilance and instinct and everyone helping out to sort things out for all of our animals then Camouse would no longer be here with us now, we are only to happy to have her home with some very good news all-round.

Shaun and Isla were here when I arrived back from the vets to give Camouse reassurance and settle her in with the puppies, which went very well
Camouse has adopted the two remaining Quannahy pups along with her own puppies and is doing really well, she has been very good with them and Kate and I, as we really have not had very much contact with her before this weekend.

We had planned to spend more time with her and get to know her properly when she came into season before she was mated but best laid plans didn’t account for under 24 hours of having her here and puppies being born.
Quannahy has gone back home to join her pack at Shaun’s until we can find a suitable home for her as a pet, she is very happy you would not think she had whelped a litter of pups a few days previously.
Finally we finished everything and went to pick up the sawdust for the bedding and got our dinner.

Tuesday was a nice dry morning everything was running according to plan the dogs thought it was summer.
This gave us chance to get everyone cleaned out and exercised then we moved a couple of dogs around ready for the next puppies to be born.
Lobo has gone into D’Quilla’s pack.
Cheau and Starr have moved down into the bottom block to make room for the lab to whelp.
Hopefully weather permitting on Thursday Cath is coming to pick up Chea as she has been rehomed and Starr will join Bobby and Siren, this will mean one less group to go out so we have a little more time for training with a couple of other dogs.

Camouse is doing well with her puppies and her adopted pups.

Our labradoodle puppies were born without any problems.
Our other Lab girl has been moved to the whelping area with another female for company until she whelps.

Lycan is the second female in Coosa’s group she is only out on exercise once a day at the moment as she has an abscess in her foot; she is very good she hasn’t really made any fuss about it, thankfully after four days her foot is starting to get better.

We have a few dogs for rehoming due to some changes in the breeding and needing to breed from less of the dogs that actually live here, the plan is to breed from more of my dogs that are with friends or on breeding contracts, this will give us more time with the dogs that are here.

There will be a couple more in the next few months also looking for new homes.

Tuesday evening was stressful Camouse was unsettled while the lab was whelping she was jumping around the pen and banging the heat lamp all over the place then she jumped up and ripped the electric cable clean out of the lamp so I had to remove it completetly, this was not ideal as it was very cold and the pups being so young was worrying, I had to hope that Camouse would get in the whelping box and keep the puppies warm.
I did not feel it appropriate to move either of the bitches late at night as this could have caused more problems.
I was hoping for an early night but instead I was watching the whelping and flicking the cameras back and forth to check on Camouse for hours.

Wednesday was a really cold start to the morning everyone went out before any of the kennels could be washed, as it would have just frozen before we could dry the floors.
Worming and some vaccination boosters needed to be done.

Kate had the delightful task of plucking the pheasants for Idaho, I am afraid I draw the line at that job, quite frankly it makes me feel sick.
Kate also brought her in a crow and a squirrel but that was fed as it is without any skinning or plucking.
The afternoon was spent cleaning and visitors viewing wolf dogs.
We went to training with Peaches and C, everything went really well we had no issues with any of the stays, I was a little unsure how she would be on the stand stay as I knew that other dogs that were in the down as they will not stay in the stand were going to be getting up and down.
One owner had to repeatedly return to her dog to put him back in the down and as she was stood right next to C I was really pleased with her she did not move her body once only her head.
Our heelwork is improving as C has found a little more energy and enthusiasium I think due to the new high-energy treat she is getting before and during training.
Unfortunately we lost one of Camouses pups in the night so this now leaves puppies, all the rest seem to be ok I think maybe she laid on this one.
Thursday was a good morning very busy but all went as planned Chea has gone to her new home.
Starr has now moved in with Siren and Bobby they all seem to be getting on very well they are all well suited as both girls are very energetic and playful.
Thursday evening was spent brushing and clipping Bon the poodle.
Friday was not great it was wet and cold so none of the dogs wanted to be out for as long as normal, everyone came in and spent the day chewing on bones and hide chews they were all nice and quiet and content.
Coosa’s group spent most time out in the field but then came through the hatch and lay in their kennel when the rain really came down.
Kate did most of the outside work while I bathed and clipped two of the yorkies.

Friday was bitterly cold but mainly dry which was nice.
After we had finished cleaning and changing all the vet beds for the new pups I had chance to spend some time with Camouse and giving her a brush as she is blowing her coat as are many others, most the kennels have loads of fur all over the place first thing in the morning.
Evening was spent brushing one of the housedogs and paperwork.
Saturday was very busy as Wendy and Brian came down to do many jobs that had occurred in the last couple of weeks and to bring some newspaper as we are always so short of it.
Brian has cut some board to make slightly smaller doors on the whelping box’s to make it easier for the bitches to get in and out before they whelp, the higher doors can go back in when the pups get bigger.

We had to put up a white board so that the Labrador, Breeze can not see Camouse next door to her when she comes out for exercise as she feels threatened by another dog so close to her area when she has pups herself.

Boards were also put up on the front kennel in the top block as Jezz is in there with her puppies and the other dogs that pass her kennel stop and look at the pups, Jezz is not happy that they are so inquisitive.

We have also put a board to divide the 2 pens in the office as C and Razzel keep getting hold of the coats on the poodles in the next pen and eating them, this week alone we have had 4 coats ripped to shreds.

The ground had to be dug down deeper where the gate opens in Coosa’s field and paving slabs put in the gateway as a couple of days this week it has got so muddy by the gate then the ground has frozen and we cant open the gate so we have to climb over {a six foot gate} and try to break the frozen ground to get in.
Last week one of the groups of dogs in field 2 broke the catches off their gate and decided to join the dogs in field luckily they all got on ok and were running around the field together, so we have put a new catch and a chain on the gate also a dividing gate between the two fields and the track were they go out from the kennels

We had visitors picking up labradoodle pups and a couple viewing Csv adults for a possible future puppy the evening feeding before sitting down with the house dogs for a couple of hours.
This has been a particularly long and hard week thankfully now has drawn to and end.

February 4th, 2012

Last Sunday was a good day the weather was fine until late afternoon, which allowed all the dogs to get plenty of time out.
Wendy and Brian were here doing odd jobs and Wendy helped me with the morning cleaning this in its self gives the dogs something else to focus on.
While we were out doing some alterations to how the dogs will pass each other’s fields on the way out on exercise needed to be changed so that the males can not see each other.
By putting up galvanized sheeting this caused a problem with the wind not being able to travel through the panels so it broke the frame on the gate.
Now we have put a line of round wooden fence posts to allow some air flow and to block the sight of passing dogs, thankfully it has done the job we had anticipated it would, therefore the stress levels in the males has reduced significantly which is a blessing right in the height of breeding season.
Kate popped in for a couple of hours and gave us a hand so we finished and all went out for a roast dinner.
By the time we came home the sleet was terrible.
Monday morning Kate had problems getting in due to having snow and she lives in a fairly isolated place.
Here we just had Huge flakes of very wet sleet all day long, it was so bad the dogs were literally swimming in mud by the gateways.
Each group only went out twice and they were very greatful to come in, as they were in longer they all had treats and hide chews to occupy themselves, they were extremely quiet for the day, I think Kiro thought I had better be quiet or I may have to go back out in that disgusting weather.
Everyone was in and finished by 5 o’clock, which left me plenty of time for a few hours paperwork.
Kirsty dropped in with her hybrid boy Lupus as she wanted me to look at his feet and advise on the gravel rash he has got from running around in the car park at the pub, he is one of the nicest natured dogs I have ever met, Kirsty has taken on a private dog trainer who is a friend of mine to give extra stimulation with Lupus and Kirsty’s other dogs, even he commented that Lupus was very keen to work and to please you whenever possible, this dog a credit to Kirsty and all the work she has put into him has really paid off,

Tuesday was a really early start, Coosa decided it is not raining so he wanted to come out at 6 am he was not going to give up howling so I did the housedogs and got him out as soon as we could.
The cleaning all went well the dogs had a good time out for exercise.
We moved Lobo into a new pack as he was starting to pick up bad habits from the girls in his group, he has now joined Cheauh and Starr to learn some more manners, and they are all getting along well.
We vaccinated and microchipped all the pups that are leaving this weekend.
I thought I would just power wash the yard again before out afternoon visitors, umm bad idea I got a nice drowning from a loose connection on the pipe from the power washer, we could not get it tight enough so Kate popped it up to the repair guy and picked up the next batch of vaccines.
Shaun and Isla came over to do part of the five day course on Trauma, this all went very well and the dogs did what was expected under the circumstances.
Our dog we use on the aggression course was also used on this course, she was the perfect dog, so well behaved I think people found it hard to believe she was the dog they had met before in a different situation.
When everyone had gone Shaun and Isla stayed for dinner along with Kate, we had a really nice quite evening chatting.

The Face book page and ticket sales are now open for the Dog weekend at Ashby de la Zouch on the 15 Th and 16 Th of September, details below

Wednesday morning went really after we managed to clear the mud that had completely frozen solid.
Without having the power washer in the bottom block we just used buckets of hot water to scrub the pens then hosed the off after.
Most everything was finished early so we let the 10 small housedogs and three wolfdogs out in the field for a good run.
Kate finished off the last few groups to go out as my Royal Canin rep popped in for a coffee for an hour.
The afternoon went very quickly with no problems and then Kate and I went off to training, Kate did very well with Peaches the poodle.
C was good but not showing much enthusiasm with the class I think she was feeling tired from being out in the field with all the smaller dogs earlier in the day.
Not much sleep on Wednesday night as they all decided to howl three times during the night and each time I got woken up it was harder to get back to sleep.
Thursday was Kate’s day off so we were off to a slightly slower start as Hannah does not do any of the dogs on her own as she has only been with us a few weeks, everything was frozen solid so no real cleaning can be done first thing in the morning, everyone gets fed goes out in the field and has their buckets of water defrosted, then the pens get washed out on the second time they go out.
Late morning Kate turns up with the food shopping for Friday nights dinner and to spend some time with Lobo and ends up staying for the day and doing some lead work with Starr and Roka as I am looking to rehome both of these two girls.
Hannah spends the afternoon clipping Razzel while Kate and I do the dogs.
Quannahy started whelping late afternoon she has had ….Boys and …girls, most of the pups take after Wayakin, the sire of the pups in colour.
This is Quannahy’s first litter she is young and very fit, she had the pups quite quickly and with easy, she did not appear to be tired and she is doing really well looking after them all a very proud mum.
Meli one of our recent older girls we re homed is doing very well I have had an email from her new owners to say how happy they are with her and that she has settled in very well.
Friday was an interesting morning everything was frozen solid, it took ages to defrost everyone’s buckets so I am prepared for Saturday all the spare buckets are ready to give them fresh water in the morning and leave their buckets to defrost in the house.
Kate was off for the morning and Hannah was in for cleaning and exercise time, she is doing very well considering that she was in shock after her first day, Hannah had previous experience in working at a kennel but soon realised that it was nothing like working here with a large number of high ranking dogs.
In the afternoon Shaun and Isla came over with a really nice group of people to do another course this one was on puppies and rankings in the litter, everyone seemed to enjoy the course and said how pleased they were with what they had learnt this week.
Three of the cockerpoo pups went today.
Shaun and I had a chat with a guy from the BBC about possibly using some of our hybrids for some filming.
Hannah spent the afternoon on ear cleaning razzel, and a puppy trim on Peaches.
Kate came in to help with the last hour of the evening on the outside dogs and to finish off dinner for all of us.
Quannahy is a little unsettled with her puppies so Shaun and Isla have come over to stay the night and spend time with her giving her the security and confidence she needs.
It is rare for me to breed from a low ranking bitch like Quannahy, I always take preference to an Alpha bitch, having given this a lot of thought over the last few days I am going to rehome Quannahy after she has weaned the pups as I feel she will be better as a pet than a brood bitch.

30th January

January 29th, 2012

Thankfully a long and busy weekend over with, another new week begins with a wet Monday morning roll on summer.
As most of you who have been here know how busy we are and those who read the blog can see we are constantly working with our own dogs, for some reason I am being constantly plagued with people phoning or emailing for advice on rescue dogs or problem dogs they have got from rescue centers or other breeders who are not happy to give any advice on the pups they have sold.
Why can’t people do their research on the dogs and ask the breeders a lot more questions before getting over excited and just going home with a puppy, mostly the end result is the pup is the one who suffers in the long run, I have sympathy for the dogs but despair at the owners.
I regret to say that I am no longer going to be able to advise on any dogs that have not been purchased from my kennels, I have very little spare time and what I do have will be devoted to my own dogs and the loyalty that I owe to people who have purchased a dog from me.
I have several people visit here to meet the dogs and then come back and purchase a dog at some point in the future, today especially I have had
Constant phone calls and viewings for the Cockerpoo and small puppies, and two calls for advice on dogs I have no idea were they come from.
Many of my Cockerpoo and labradoodle pups are sold to first time owners so this can take up a lot of my time making sure they are prepared with everything they need for their pups when they arrive home with them.
Lobo is home after his weekend away with Kate his girls are pleased to see him back.
Rupert has been out training today and then Cito late on Monday evening for a walk around town in the fog to see how she is after being away, she was very good given that you could hardly see where we were going.
I have been busy getting in front with as many jobs as possible to help Kate out as I have training with Rupert on Tuesday, two puppy viewings and lunch with Shaun, Isla and Wolf.
Tuesdays training went exceptionally well, also went out to lunch with Shaun and Isla. We discussed a new wolf research plan, the rest of the week meetings and future projects.
Kate did the dogs on Wednesday whilst wolf and I went training with Rupert and cito. Wednesday evening we took peaches and C training, also in the class was Bazz, one of Saffi’s pups and Narla a Wolf Hybrid. They all have come along very well in the past couple of weeks. Kate took Peaches and C home, to do the evening kennels and let the house dogs out as I was going out for dinner with Shaun, Isla and wolf for yet another late night.
Thursday morning very wet, most of the dogs only went out for a short run, Wolf and I went to the vets while Kate did the dogs. Then we went out to do some training with Rupert. Came home to do the evening kennels and then out yet again.
Friday morning was taken up with puppy viewings, and then we went out for the afternoon. Roxy was rehomed today. Wolf and I went over to see Shaun and Isla which I presumed was just for a meeting, some how ended up being an awesome experience I went in with Cheyenne, Tejas and Natar. This was a brilliant experience especially during season. The only down to it, I came home smelling of a wolf and covered in mud, But well worth it. My plan is to spend more time at Shaun’s with the wolves now that Kate has fully got the idea of running the kennels on her own. This enables me to have the time out I need.
Saturday morning was exceptional cold thankfully dry. Quannahy is happy and settled in her new area which she is due to whelp on the 4th of February.
I have been burning the candle at both ends for the last week and somehow still feel good for doing so, it must be the company of very exceptional friends that has made this week a very special one.
Due to Kate working all week she has finally got a day off Sunday, so Wendy and Brian are going to come down and give me a hand with the dogs and some odd jobs that need doing.

22nd January

January 22nd, 2012

Wolf dog puppies due from Quannahy and Wayakin on the 4 Th of Feb.
A very cold start to the week and nearly a very wet one too, I was happily power washing away and a large hole blew in the high pressure hose so water was flying everywhere thankfully Kate turned off the electric before I was drowned so it was Wolf to the rescue and a quick trip to the hardware store for a new hose as its impossible to work with only one power washer here as it means carrying it up and down the steps which its not only very heavy, but time consuming.
I have spent some time working with Rupert today and nearly froze, the wind has been terrible.
The tension is building up in the top kennel block as Tory is in season and Lobo really wants to mate her, this poses a problem Lobo has had a vasectomy so from that aspect it is ok but as the other bitch in with her really hates Lobo we are having to put up with him whining and barking.
The three bitches in with Lobo are really starting to have a go at him as he is getting on their nerves, I know how they feel.
Coosa is on form with his howling, when I go out he is giving a very depressed sound to his howl, I went over to visit my neighbour and he howled for an hour without stopping for a break, hopefully this will change as Idaho is due in season anytime from now.
Due to trying to keep down the noise in the top kennel, I have just bought a two way radio as my last one broke. I am hoping this will work as its freezing cold running up there at night.
An early trip to the vets on Tuesday to get Rupert castrated, all went well and Rupert is fine.
Tarna went to a new home today this was very sad but due to cutting down on the wolfdog breeding I felt there was no need to keep as many pure bred Saarloos and I have her sister Tory.
Poor D’Quilla is very unhappy even thought I have put her in with Tory and Koko, it has done Koko the world of good as she was getting a little above herself lately.
I spent the rest of the afternoon power washing as the mornings have been too frozen to chance too much water turning to ice.
Wednesday was a horrible wet start to the day so it turned into a paper work, bathing little dog’s day and rushing around getting organized for training with Peaches and C.
Kate took Peaches in on her own as I had phone calls to sort out, she did very well with her, I think it helped as she didn’t have to worry about me watching over her.
Simon was training his hybrid Narla and also a little labradoodle pup from Saffi his name is Bazz.
C was in the next class with the older dogs, I was impressed with the amount of knowledge she had retained even after the Christmas break.
She even learnt new things, which she completely took in her stride.
Thursday was Kate’s day off so she popped in to pick up Lobo in the morning and still stayed and helped out with cleaning and doing toast for our breakfast, then she went off to the farm to check the sheep with Lobo, he was very good meeting the sheep he was not phased by them nor did he want to chase them which was a bonus.
After the cleaning with Hannah in the morning I did the dogs for the rest of the day and helped Hannah with bathing and grooming the small dogs.
The weather was really horrible wet and miserable it got dark so early, but this did give me a chance to get a little bit organized with who needs worming and vaccinating ready for the weekend.
Late afternoon Cito our 7-year-old pure Czech bitch was returned due to a change in circumstances with her home.
She is now in the house with Rupert, her grandson and C her daughter.
I am looking to put Cito in a permanent home for her retirement, as I really do not have the space for another big dog in the house.
Friday morning a big meat delivery then a puppy went off to his new home.
A family came over to look at the Yorkshire terrier pups, all went well they have picked their puppy.
So far so good then the day started to decline rapidly, I had a major falling out with the hire company from which I had a van from while my van was being repaired they demanded that I pick my van up from the garage without giving me very much notice and said I had been told by the garage my van was ready.
This raised my temper very quickly, I spent the rest of the day running round like mad trying to get finished in time to pick my van up from the garage before it closed.
I had a terrible drive home in the fog.
Saturday should have been training with Rupert, but Unfortunately Wolf had a problem at work and couldn’t make this weekend so I changed my plans from training with Rupert to just working with him in the afternoon.
Kate only worked mornings for this weekend as she will cover Tuesday and Wednesday all day if Wolf can make it next week, then Rupert will be off home for a while.
Saturdays weather was wet, windy and cold not very nice for any of us.
All power washing has been done and finished for the weekend.
Sunday has been really windy but dry so far, unfortunately last night was so bad that the metal gate panel on Coosa’s field has been snapped clean in half on the frame, this will mean some sweet talking to the supplier to get another one sent out as soon as possible.

January 15th, 2012

A good week all round cold wet and windy in the early part of the week but this did not make much difference to our normal plans.
Monday was busy with mainly phone calls while Kate did the dogs.
Tuesday was my job to get Peaches the poodle brushed and ready for Wednesday raining poor Kate has the job of taking Peaches to training club in the puppy class and I am still training with C in the bronze class, I think I have the easiest of the two dogs.
Both were very good and behaved extremely well.
Wednesday was a rush, as Kate had to shoot off to the station and pick her boyfriend up as he had just returned from 2 months in New Zealand and then she came back in the afternoon to get the dogs finished before we went off training for a few hours.
Thursday Kate did the dogs while I went to pick up a hire van and drop my van in the garage to be sorted out after the lady hit me in the car park last month.
I took the opportunity to go shopping for clothes and dogs toys etc then off to lunch with mum to chat about the coming years plans for breeding ,staffing etc.
Shaun and Isla came over to have a meeting about future training and breeding then we went out for a meal, which turned into a fairly late night.
Friday we had a new lady called Hannah start, she is part time cleaning and part grooming with the small dogs which will help me out as I am not too good on the clipping side of things and really find it hard to spare the time.
Saturday has been really busy, as two dogs have had to go into the vets to get passports done.
Wolf has come down for some more training with Rupert and to take his puppy back home.
Kate has been doing the dogs most of the day as I have been training and helping out with Wendy and Brian to catch up on some more odd jobs and running repairs of dog chewing and general devastation that the little darlings cause along the way.
Brian has also sorted out the new drainage pipes to stop the drive getting flooded.
The new taps are all on the water butts that had been chewed off and wire caging put round them so they can not eat them again.
Wolf and I have been shopping again for more dog stuff, my house and garage looks like a pets at home storeroom.
Echo and Rupert have now got their passports for their holiday in Canada.
We had a really nice evening out at a very nice pub out in the back of beyond.
Sunday is busy with pups leaving and Wolf is off home after some training with Rupert and picking his new Cockerpoo puppy.
Rupert is staying for a while to do a little more training while Wolf settles his new puppy in at home.

One wolf hybrid male pup, Yazhi known as AZ still looking for a new home.
Next litter due on the 4 Th of February from my girl and Shaun Ellis’s male Saarloos.
New Year’s Day was a very long but rewarding and productive day all round I got to spend all day with the dogs and go out in the field with each group which was nice for a change.
Monday was good apart from the weather, I had a very early start to get in front with feeding and cleaning so I could go out for the day with Wolf and Rupert, we popped into pets at home to get a jacket for my poodle as the poor little mite is embarrassed to be seen after my episode with the clippers, wolf ended up buying half the shop. He definitely spoils my dogs rotten with hundreds of pounds of treats whenever he visits.
Then we went off to see Shaun for the rest of the day to do a bit of training with Rupert to help Wolf get to the next level he is hoping to achieve with Rupert.
Kate had done a great job while I was out and she was very pleased with herself as she had managed to get Coosa in as well, I think a little help from the rain gave Kate the advantage, but all the same I was grateful for not having to go up in the dark and pouring rain to get him.
Then Shaun and Isla came over and we all went out for a nice meal.
Tuesday was the worst weather we have had so far, none of the dogs got out into the field before lunch time as the rain was so hard you could barely see where you were going, the river had flooded and the road outside my house looked like the river itself, a fast panic to move my van as the water came up the drive so quickly.
Shaun and Isla came over to spend some time with the labradoodle puppies ready to start doing the first part of the dog training video of their new dog from Saffi they have just bought from me.
We had yet another late evening out for dinner.
Wednesday morning went fairly well until we went to take the pictures of all the little dogs and neither of my cameras would work, I have put both on to charge and if that fails then I will get a new one.

Thursday was day training with Shaun and Wolf with Rupert before Wolf went back to London.
It was a hard cold wet day, I was glad to get home and have a bath before going out again.
Friday was good, everything went smoothly even the weather held off until the late afternoon which was not too bad as everyone had been out three times.
Kate and I went to the pub for the evening to see Simon and the hybrid female pup that he had off me on Christmas day, she is now called Narla, She is a very nice outgoing girl who is growing at the rate of knots, being a pub dog she is already very good with most people and not reserved unlike some hybrids can be.

Saturday was busy with people viewing pups and lots of enquiries on the phone.
We had a lot to get done with two people coming for interviews and making sure we could get in front with as much as possible so Kate could have Sunday off to go and visit family and take Lobo with her for a couple of days.
Pictures of Wayakin and Quannahy parents of the litter due on the 4 Th of February.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM WOLFZONE KENNELS
A non-eventful week really just lots of cleaning, constantly power washing mud, if C had anything to do with helping me I would have been blown up….. I am merrily cleaning away and she was chomping her way through the power cable, I may need help but maybe C will have to find another job.

Wendy and Brian came down on Boxing Day and did some odd jobs and helped me with the dogs as Kate had come home for the day to see her family.

Kate came back in the evening and we went over to my sisters house for a buffet and party games, it was nice to get out and catch up with some of the family.

We have had a bit of a struggle this week as Kate and I have both been ill and the dogs have all been fantastic and very little noise.
The housedogs have been the most demanding, as they were not out in the sitting room in the evening as I went to bed at 5 pm and only managed to get up and let them out for a quick wee.
Rupert has had two trips to the vets this week he has now had his stitches out and all seems to be well with his ear operation.

All the hybrid pups are doing very well in their new homes, Paul from Orkwolf is very happy with his new boy.
The two dogs that went to Norway and Germany are both doing very well.
Tala, our csv girl is getting on very well with James and the boys, El Cid is pleased to have another Wolfzone girl join his pack, James is hoping to do Cani x with her soon.

Shaun has taken Quannay to the vets this week for her scan and she is in pup to Shaun’s male Saarloos Wayakin so we will be expecting puppies on the 4 th of Febuary, this will be one of our rare ¾ Saarloos ¼ Czechoslovakian wolf dog litters.

Wolf has come down for a few days for a visit with a car load of food and treats to keep the dogs going for some weeks he also managed to have room in the car to bring Echo and Rupert which is great as I have not seen either of them for a few months, Rupert is Kiro’s son he is a much bigger version of his mum with a superb temperament.
Echo has been staying here and Rupert is in luxury in an exclusive little hotel in town with wolf.
New years eve was such a busy day I ended up not finishing until 6.30 and had a major rush to bath and change to go out to a very nice restaurant with Wolf for dinner by 7 pm.
Thankfully Wolf gave me a hand to finish some of the evening feeding and bowl washing or I would not have been ready.
New years day is going to be hectic as bedding and outside feeds have not been prepared ready and Kate is not here, great start to the New Year.
I have recently advertised for another member of staff as it is just getting too much to try and do the dogs and advertising and have any sort of life.
Given how hard this last year has been I am now selling 8 more wolf dogs to scale down on some of our breeding, I do not need to keep as many dogs here at the kennels, as I have a number of dogs with Shaun and other friends that can be bred from, this means I will breed the smaller dogs and maybe more hybrid litters and less lower content pups.
I would like not having to be so reliant on having staff every day.

It was only a couple of years ago that I could easily manage with someone coming in three times a week, which gave me chance to go to the vets or shopping and catch up on grooming or paper work.
Shaun has two older dogs for rehoming a male and female both are spayed and castrated both good with other dogs and friendly with people if you are interested please email me as the dogs will be sold from here and not from Shaun’s.
14-month-old male ½ Csv ½ Saarloos.
2-year-old female 1/2Inuit ½ csv.

25th December

December 25th, 2011

Wolfzone Kennels wishes you a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.
Christmas day and not much different here to any normal day.
The week started very wet and quite hectic, I spent over three hours at the vets due to Defra not getting the paper work sent out in time for the puppy travelling to Norway, not a good start to a busy week.
Rupert the poodle had his operation on his ear to resect his ear canal, so I brought the pups home and fed them and then went back to get Ru at 6 pm after the rest of the dogs had been finished.
The rain was so bad they only went out once in the field, the rest of the time they were either in their kennels or in the yards to stay cleaner as its hard to keep them dry when they are caked in mud.
The roads were flooded and the drive took an extra 15 minutes, so another late finish to a very long day, thankfully Kate was here to help get everything done.
At 3 am on Monday morning I was getting concerned as the delivery driver that was picking up the pups had used his sat nav and not my directions and ended up in a ditch, by the time he was pulled out it was 4 am and the first puppy needs to be at Heathrow airport for check in a 07.20,with wet and windy conditions this was going to be very tight.
The second pup travelling was not flying for quite some time so she was not such a worry.
Both pups have settled in very well and enjoying their new homes especially Ares, he is enjoying the snow in Norway.
The pictures I have had from both new owners are great.
I do miss the little guys, its not the same without having them on the web cam screen.
Whenever I woke up at night I would always watch them playing.
Still one male hybrid left to home, he is very outgoing, bold and friendly with people and other dogs.
As the other puppies have now all gone I have got a black labradoodle, my apricot poodle and the two hybrids together their time is split between being in the house and out in the whelping area mainly in the daytime.
Tuesday morning was another wet start and the dogs were fed up with the rain everyone was wet and muddy, except poor D’Quilla who is still on a concrete yard due to her stitches from being spayed.
Thankfully the weather stayed reasonable for most of the afternoon and I was able to vaccinate 15 dogs as they came back in from their last exercise.
Wednesday went well until I had an hour mediation hearing on the phone trying to get the money from someone who used to be a friend until they tried to avoid paying me a stud fee.
Finally after two years I am now going to start getting payments.
We managed to get all the rest of the dogs wormed and vaccinated.
Thursday we managed to completely strip out Coosa’s kennel area and scrub all of the panels and re bed, this time we are trying the Coosa group on just shavings without straw as the girls seem to keep wetting the straw and it smells horrible, so hopefully this will improve the cleaning in their kennel.
Friday James came down with Becky, she is the lady that does El Cids massage.
We went out for breakfast and then James has taken Tala one of my pure breed csv bitches home to start running Cani x with along side his wolfdog cross from Reo.
Mum has arrived for a few days for Christmas so this means there is someone to help with the cooking and washing up dogs bowls.
The day was wet and nasty then to finish off we had a vets visit with Rupert to check on his ear after his operation.
Saturday Shaun and Isla came over to see their labradoodle puppy from Saffi.
It’s always nice to have a spare couple of pairs of hands when you are rushing.
Kate popped out for a few hours for lunch so I did the rest of the worming and finished off the dogs.
Shaun has two dogs coming up for rehoming soon, the pictures and details of each dog will be on my web site next week.
One is a male castrated ½ csv ½ Saarloos he is 14 months old.
The other is a female spayed 18 months old she is ½ csv ½ Inuit both are my breeding.
We still have three 10-month-old females looking for new homes.
Kate and I went out for a drink with Sequi and Kia to see Kirsty, Simon and Lupus.
Sequi spent the entire time on Simons lap.
We came home and got all the dogs done, feed sorted for breakfast then did our veggies for Christmas dinner.
I had just gone to bed and was having a chat with Rach about the wolf dog event and Kirsty phoned up, well to cut a long story short Simon has bought Sequi and I am having a litter from her in the future then she will be spayed.
Simon came over Christmas morning and picked up Sequi.
Kate worked for a few hours and was then off to her family for dinner she was taking Lobo but Bobby has gone into season so Lobo has stayed to keep her company and Kate has taken Yazhi known as AZ our last hybrid boy who is still available.
