1 female wolfdog puppy left from Steel.
Last Sunday was very busy hence only one puppy left from Steel and only 1 labradoodle pup left.
Now hopefully I will have time to catch up on things as the next litter is not due until the 22 nd of June.
We are waiting for our next wolf dog to come into season as we will not have any pups for a while.
Kate had Sunday off and Annabel was in so it was a hard day, with new staff it is hard to get anything else done as I cannot leave them on their own
Two of Steels pups left early in the morning as they had a six hour drive luckily that did not take up too much time as the new owners came in on Saturday afternoon and picked up the food and we did all of the paper work.
I had a couple of people looking round in the afternoon for future puppies.
Coosa was looking very scruffy, so I spent a couple of hours brushing the dogs that were moulting the most, eventually I had to stop as it was getting dark and my arms were dropping off.
I finally came in at 8 pm for dinner.
Monday morning was good I had got most of the dogs out before Kate arrived thankfully as the weather then turned really horrid.
We thought we would make the most of the dogs not being able to get out for as long so we split up ten of the smaller dogs and did the swab tests for PRA and got all them sent off, so hopefully the results will be back in about three weeks’ time.
Kate was late leaving so we could get all the cages put away and all of the dogs back into their groups.
Tuesday morning was busy we moved Iman into a kennel on her own as she had to have her meat feed in the morning as she is leaving very late in the evening when the transport people come to pick her up.
Reo has now moved into the pack with tory, this is good news so now we have one less kennel to clean and a spare place to split the house dogs up for feeding.
A’Lupa is still in season so she cannot be moved for a while, but when she can we will have another spare pen; this makes life so much easier.
C and Rupert are out in a kennel during the day time then in the house at night.
Wednesday morning was an early start as I needed to get as many kennels cleaned as possible before Kate arrived as I had to pop over to see Shaun and Isla to have a look at Lakota’s leg as he has gone lame recently and has not been making any improvement with resting it.
I got back home at lunchtime to get Coosa in so the small dogs could go out as we had a busy afternoon to get everyone finished before training.
Ali came in at 4 pm to look after the dogs while we were out so she cleaned the two bottom pens that are spare as it was a nice evening she also picked up muck in the field.
We were back late as we had to help out putting the hall back tidy and then off to Tesco to get Echo some more fresh meat.
Thursday morning was an early start as I have people visiting and an appointment in town.
When I got home I power washed all of the bottom kennels and steps while Kate did the top lot.
Coosa, kia and Taska had to be brushed as they are looking like sheep at the moment.
The insurances and microchips had to be registered for the little dogs that have just gone.
I spent some time in with Roxy and Atlaz as she is a little shy and still not too sure about us yet.
I had to spend quite a while on the phone with the web site chap sorting out my labradoodle site.
Friday was a hard morning as Kate was not coming in till late and Annabel was working.
We had done most of the dogs before Kate arrived. So I left them to finish the last two kennels as Wolf was here we had to go to cash and carry for blue roll and washing powder, then off to Trago for dog chews, to keep everyone occupied.
We did not pick the best day with the traffic as it was Devon County show.
When I got home I spent the rest of the evening with the house dogs.
Saturday Kate was off as she was going to the show.
Sophie was here for her first day, she seemed quite happy and confident.
Saturday is never an easy day to start without having three of us as we always have visitors.
Our last labradoodle pup left today.
Sunday
Will be kate and Annabel so we should get a bit more done and I will be able to spend more time showing Annabel all the little jobs that can be done when I have someone here.

Four of the Steel pups left today so cleaning is easier giving us a little more time to fit in other jobs.
After a terrible weekend of worry about Whisper, a hybrid that I bred being still out in the Lincolnshire countryside I had news on Saturday evening that a dog fitting her description was seen in a private country estate and had been chasing sheep, I was told they were going to shoot her, on Sunday morning I had a message to say she had been shot, there was a feeling of sadness and a sort of a relief that her ordeal was over with.

Then late on Sunday evening there had been another sighting of a dog like her, so I was again getting stressed not knowing if it was Whisper or another dog that had been killed.
Monday morning I had the email confirming that the dog that had been shot was scanned by the police and it was Whisper.

Monday was a very gloomy day the weather here was wet and horrible and my mood matched it, I was so very sad as any hybrid from my kennels has a very special place in my heart.
I hope whisper will now be at peace in a better place, such a waste of a beautiful young bitch killed just a couple of days before her third birthday.
She has now been laid to rest and free from harm at her home, she will not be forgotten.
I helped Kate for a couple of hours with the cleaning then went in to do paper work and spend some time getting my head together and trying to adjust to the news.
I had to carry on as normal even though I felt sick and tearful all day; I can still remember holding that little girl in my arms.
In the afternoon the rain was beating down on the roof, I did not much feel like being outside so I spent a lot of time sat in the run with Taska, Matzi and Coosa , all of Whispers relations and felt blessed to have my guys.
Tuesday morning was Kate’s birthday so we tried to get finished as quickly as possible so she could go home and have some time with her family, it didn’t go quite according to plan she only managed to leave half an hour early.
I carried on with the rest of the jobs before I had people coming to visit looking for an older dog.
Roka was their chosen dog so she has now been rehomed to a very nice couple and will live near the beach.
I was sad to see her leave but she did not make the size I was hoping for and as I am breeding fewer wolf dogs it was not necessary to keep her when she could have a nice home and get individual attention.
This now only makes three dogs in the group she was in so a little less cleaning.
Wolf came down and brought Echo, Rupert and Meala the cockapoo pup for a few days.
Keeping Cito and Echo apart is difficult with both of them being house dogs.
Rupert is fine he is in with C.
Meala is in Razzles group along with another little pup who is here for 10 days while his owners are on holiday.
After we had settled the dogs in Wolf and I went out for an Indian while Kate looked after the dogs.
This turned into a late night with an early start looming.
Wednesday as always is very busy Kate and I did the morning cleaning and Hannah had a number of dogs to clip and bath.
We popped off to drop my van in town to get tyres; we left the van and came home for Kate to carry on putting out dogs while I helped Hannah on the ear cleaning with most of the house dogs.
Ali came in to look after the dogs and degreased the panels in pen four while we went of to get my van, then off to training.
Kate took Peaches and this was the first night for Puzzle she did not really enjoy any of it from the travelling to the training, next week she may feel more settled.
Peaches were good, she was a little stubborn to start with but finished off on a good note.
C was very good she was much more enthusiastic on her recall and heel work.
She also played with a toy again and enjoyed it.
We got home late and Ali had let all the house dogs out and checked on all the outside dogs.
We all had a coffee and chat and I got the morning feeds sorted before bed.
Thursday morning was wet and miserable, I did half of the outside cleaning with Kate then I came in to do the house dogs while Kate did the top block.
We had second vaccinations on five dogs to do before I had to go out.
The afternoon I made time to spend 10 minutes with each group to see how everyone was getting on and make sure that there are no problems looking like they are likely to arise in the near future.
I spend the evening on ear cleaning with the house dogs and playing with puppies.
Friday morning Jo could not work as her daughter was still sick so I ended up doing the day on my own.
I am having to find another girl as it’s difficult to make any plans to do anything unless kate is here.
I have had a couple more people look round but they are just not suitable and the thought of training someone that is never going to get the hang of how things work is a waste of time.
I have another girl coming this weekend so fingers crossed maybe she will be able to clean.
Saturday was unbelievable busy and nice 5.30 start, with a clear sky, so this started the dogs off wanting to get out.
I let most of the groups out and did a quick kennel clean and clear out everyone’s bedding.
When Kate came in she did the rest of the bottom groups picking up bones and getting the straw all out ready for power washing.
In-between visitors looking at pups, I power washed nearly from top to bottom of the whole place for ten hours.
We were rushing to finish as we were expecting visitors, Paul and his family were dropping off a couple of their dogs.
As Paul rarely breeds now these two were staying with someone and things were not working out, the dogs were not happy so I said I would have them.
The male is a pure bred fci registered csv.
The female is a high content timber wolf line.
When we had nearly finished most of the dogs Paul and his family arrived with the dogs.
After we had unloaded then into their new pen we had a look round at the other dogs.
Paul had a play with Iman before she goes to her new home in the next couple of weeks.
Then Shaun arrived so we got chatting for some time about Wolves and wolf dogs.
When everyone had gone it was late so I brought all of the house dogs in and came in to do the paper work for the dogs going in the morning and prepared the morning feeds while feeding Echo {one of my pet hates} as she is probably the strangest dog I have ever come across where food is concerned, thankfully she was being reasonable and ate some chicken and liver and then 41b of raw diced beef.
Another busy day ahead for Sunday.

2 females and one male
We have one male and three female pups left.
Last Sunday was really busy and the weather was absolutely terrible, I was on my own with 4 poodles and three labradoodles leaving for their new homes, I also had two people viewing wolf dog puppies.
Thankfully mum was here to answer the door as the appointments were spread right through the day due to people having problems getting here with bad driving conditions and fallen trees on many of the back roads.
It was a tiring and long day everything went well and a nice roast duck and a glass of wine at the end of it all.
Monday morning an early start as puppies were leaving to go to the port in Poole and had to be loaded from here by 7 am.
Annabelle has come to join us part time before she goes to University in September, poor girl what a day to start it was one of the hardest days for cleaning due to the dogs being in longer and the high winds right through the night had left twigs and dirt everywhere, despite all of this Annabelle did very well and I found her easy to work with. It’s also nice to have another person to call on if there is a problem and I have to leave for any reason.
Kate dropped lobo off in the afternoon after their weekend away, he is always happy to return even if siren was not so keen to see him, so I have put him with A’Lupa as she has tested Tory to the limit now, it’s been coming for a while.
Tuesday was full on cleaning for 5 hours then on to vaccinating 10 dogs with their boosters.
Coosa has just started to blow his coat on his legs so he is looking a bit moth eaten, I have brushed some of it out but he needs to have another week or two before I can really get it all to start coming out easily.

Wednesday was great it was really hot so after we had finished the morning cleaning we went on to sort out paperwork for the puppies from Steel that are leaving in a few days time
Ali came in for the afternoon as she is dog sitting while we go to training with Peaches and C.
Kate and I finished off the dogs and feeding while Ali sorted out the vet beds and the washing.
Coosa was not too happy to come in as it was still hot when it was time to feed him at 6 o clock so he just laid and looked at me as if to say do I have to move, he felt it was worth it for a lump of cheese
Ali cleaned the outside pens and looked after the dogs while we went off to training.
Peaches was good, she did not seem to have forgotten anything from her last course.
C was good, she showed a little more enthusiasm and I was shocked along with everyone else she even played with a squeaky toy for the first time ever at training, she is happy to run around here with toys and retrieve without a problem.
Kirsty had a busy night she had Beau in the puppy class, he was a little star, I think he will be very good at obedience as he is very willing and enjoys it.
Narla is a bit like C she will do what you want but not with a great amount of enthusiasm more so because she has to, she doesn’t really enjoy it but all things considered she has done very well.
Next week will be fun Kate has also booked Puzzle into the puppy class, she is our young miniature parti poodle; she is on par with Peaches so good luck to Kate.
I think I will stick to training the wolf dogs.
Jo will be back on Friday after her accident with her foot strapped up but still keen to work, Kate and Annabelle were happy to cover for a while if Jo needed more time off but she wants to be here so that’s good for all of us.
Vader has been called to give blood this week for the pet blood bank, he was as good as Gold and just laid still, for a csv cross he is a great example of a very chilled and steady dog.
Thursday was a very early start as I had an appointment at 8.30 in the morning so I was well in front when Kate arrived and she was in early.
I arrived back at 9.30 not having had a successful meeting due to some else’s mistake.
All the cleaning was finished by 10.30 when we then went on to spend time grooming and clearing muck, bones and all other bits from the field.
I had a late finish as I wanted to spend some time out with Coosa and Lycan.
Friday Jo was back in after her accident she did well now she can manage all the groups except for Matzi and Coosa group, soon she will try working a bit with Matzi and see how it goes, it’s not a problem if Matz does not want to cooperate as I am always here to do him.
I had potential hybrid viewers here for a pup in the future so this took up a couple of hours in the afternoon.
Kate dropped in to pick up lobo as she was off for a couple of days.
Lobo is kennelled with Siren and Steel, so him going in and out is not too much of a problem.
Bracken the lab is now with A’lupa and Kiro is on her own, she is happy with this as she gets prime kennel position in pen one right by the house, I think the only thing she misses is playing in the field with Bracken.
Jenny popped in to see her puppy for a while, she will be going home on bank holiday Monday.
I had people viewing labradoodles late in the afternoon looking for a pup in the summer.
Saturday morning was good I did most of the cleaning with Jo then she carried on while I came in to do some work in the house and clean the inside kennels.
Wendy and Brian came down late afternoon to drop off towels and newspaper to keep up our supplies.
They also brought the first load of cement to re do some of the run outside coosa’s night pen.
They went out and got a take away while I finished o off the outside dogs and then Kate came in with Lobo and we moved the gate on the steps to make it easier for the labs so they have more space before all getting to the gate when they run up to the field.
There have been several sighting of Whisper the wolf dog I bred who is still missing in Lincolnshire but she still has not been caught, this has caused no end of anxiety and sleepless nights this past couple of weeks.
She is a very special dog but soon she will be getting herself in to trouble as she has been missing for three weeks now.
Let’s hope she is soon reunited with her owner and her pack.

Last week’s blog went on early as Jaq was away.
Last Sunday was really busy pups leaving people viewing, thankfully Kate has come back, most of her domestic plans are getting sorted out and she hopes to be able to take lobo home more when she moves for now he still lives here.
Monday was really horrible and wet the dogs were not too happy about spending more time inside, it was so nasty that we had to shut the hatch on Idaho and give Reo and Iman her inside kennel for the day so they did not have to get wet, even though they have a really big shelter in their pen but Iman is thick and stands out in the rain when other dogs are going out.
A slight improvement in the weather in the evening so I got everyone out for a good run later that night.
The house dogs came in really muddy as they are smaller.
I have had a nightmare with people swapping and changing which labradoodle puppies they are having and the dates they are leaving keeps changing.
Steel has settled down now and seems happy to be away from her pups, I still have pups for sale from her litter.
Kirsty’s boy Beau is doing really well he has gained loads of weight and is running around with the other dogs quite happily, he has been booked into training, so the next session will have another large Wolfzone group of dogs from poodles to labradoodles and wolf dogs.
I was happy I thought I had all of my poodle litter sold then I have three pups left but thankfully the next day I had sold all of them except the two I had always planned to keep.
I have spent several hours on the internet searching for new dogs this week until early hours of the morning.
Tuesday was good it stayed dry all day so Kate and I got everything done without any problems.
We did the microchipping on a litter of pups.
I planned out my routes for viewing dogs and got as much prepared for Kate as she was going to be on her own on Wednesday while I was out picking up dogs.
I had a mad rush to the bank as I found two dogs in Leicester and Racheal went over and looked at them for me and paid a deposit on them.
Rach was collecting the girls for me on Wednesday morning and I was off the Wolverhampton to see a Yorkie female then on to Leicester to collect the two Cockers from Rach.
Wednesday morning the weather was absolutely horrendous, I did as much as I could with the dogs before I left, it was 8 am and Kate came in and took over here for the day.
Mum and I left, we had a 14 hour trip with an hour stop at Racheals, we had a look at the dogs and the Eskimo pups, they were absolutely huge, and they were definitely as big as my hybrid puppies from my last litter.
Rach had prepared some food and a nice strong coffee, it was really nice and then on the road again.
These were probably the worse driving conditions with rain wind hail stones and flooding not to mention the damn traffic.
I was really pleased to get home, I think Kate was equally pleased to see me, she was shattered.
Kate went home and I fed and settled the new dogs in, let the rest of mine out and went to bed.
Thursday morning was dryer so I had another early start and got everyone out just in case we were in for another wet day, but it was not too bad thankfully.
After the main cleaning was done the new dogs were all wormed and vaccinated and the puppies leaving at the weekend were all wormed.
We had another girl come and have a look around to possibly work one day a week, but I think she was a little over whelmed by the size of the place and the different breeds.
I took out Lobo’s stitches and his little bob tail has healed perfectly.
Kate stayed all day to catch up on power washing and paper work.
Ali came in at 5 so Kate could finish and I went off to pick up another Cocker female, for a few hours more horrible driving in the rain.
I got home not too late and settle in Miss Ellie, had a coffee with Ali, put the dogs out for last toilet and off to bed.
Friday was Jo and I, we did well no problems, just very busy.
Kate was popping in to pick up lobo for a few days at her mums.
Kirsty came in to get Beau his vaccination so he can start at training next week.
Jenny, one of our transport drivers came in to see her puppy from Steel, she has picked a female and called her Larni, she will join Jenny’s pack as soon as Jen has got some things sorted out ready for her.
One of the labradoodle puppies went off to her new home in the afternoon, so I moved the remaining puppies in to the whelping area, cleaned out their kennel, took the whelping box out and moved reo and Iman back up to the top block as Iman was starting to get very vocal when other dogs are coming in and out from the field, thankfully we had a spare kennel to move her into or she would soon have upset the neighbours.
Shaun and Isla dropped in and picked up some meat or their guys, it was only a flying visit as they had plans for the evening.
I got Coosas group in and Taska flew down to the kennel far quicker than the other two and ate most of the food, poor Coosa did not look happy he was crying, I did give him some more.
I have had a long chat with another lady who seems very suitable for the job and she is also called Alison she is coming on Monday to see how she likes working here, poor sod she will be thrown in at the deep end as kate will still be away so it will be just the two of us and I have dogs going in transport to the ferry and people viewing Steels pups.
If Alison likes it and feels she can cope then her normal day would be a Sunday, which will be good if Kate needs to leave early or if I want to go out.
It is also helps if people are viewing pups.
Saturday was very busy mum came over as I was on my own so it was an early start and thankfully the weather stayed fairly dry.
Mum sorted out the kc paper work and contracts for the poodles leaving on Sunday.
I had nearly finished all the cleaning when the first people turned up to view the older wolf dogs.
After they left I had about half an hour and a couple came to pick a labradoodle puppy.
Then the next one to leave was a labradoodle pup from Tease that I have let go to a friend on breeding terms she is called Crumble a really pretty second generation pup, she will eventually come home to be mated to Razzle.
Apart from Coosa and Matzi objecting to the little dogs being out in the field a bit longer than normal that was the only howling that I have had all day, they have all been very good.
I went up to get the Coosa group in and he was standing at the gate he jumped straight over Taska and went like a rocket to the kennel, I think he had been planning how to get their first and get more food than her, Lycan just stands back and looks at them.
Sunday will be very busy as Jo is off as she has had an accident on her horse and aggravated an old fracture in her foot, it will be a very early start as I have 5 puppies going.

Steel has wolf dog puppies still available; also Steel is looking for a new home she is a pure bred Czech outgoing and energetic.
Last Sunday was very busy with people viewing puppies and a labradoodle has also gone to his new home.
Ali came to have a look around and see how she felt about working here, so she is going to do Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evening so that I can still go to dog training and shopping or whatever I may need to do.
I rang Michelle to ask her if she could give me a hand for a bit, she has kindly stepped in to help out as I was stuck when Kate left suddenly, Michelle was thrown in at the deep end as I was busy with customers, but she did ok.
I think given some time Kate will find a way to get somewhere to live with her boyfriend away from the family so they have some quality time together and she will be back with Lobo even if it is only part time.
One of her main issues has been that her partner’s family do not like wolf dogs, they do not understand why anyone would want a dog that could be potentially wild, given Lobo is a low ranking gentle natured dog this is a joke really.
The dogs are very unsettled with three new people in a week they are really struggling to come to terms with the sudden changes.
Matzi is finding it the hardest he is really on edge until 1 o clock when it is just me around.
Reo has not been coming in from the field, he is also finding the change difficult and to adjust to so many people in a short space of time.
Jo is great, she is efficient and methodical in the way she works she asks very practical questions and gets on with anything you ask her to do.
I had originally told Jo that there would be no need to introduce her to Kiro for a while until Kiro had seen her around the kennels for a while.
Due to everything that has happened I had to reconsider my decision with the introduction.
Thankfully Jo is level headed and well balanced and no emotional issues so all of this taken into consideration, we spent some time with Kiro and they got on well, Jo took her for a walk on the lead and had no problem with her, this in itself was a great relief as Kiro will catch you unaware and work out your weaknesses very quickly, I am sure Kiro’s IQ is far higher than some of my previous staff.
I spent the evening on the computer and then went to bed with a blinding headache.
Monday I got up with my headache and felt terrible, by the time I had my second lot of migraine pills I started to feel a bit better, we were busy but all went well, with most of the dogs only a problem with the two boys, so I have to deal with their groups, hopefully Reo will soon go back in with Kiro and this should help to bring him in from the field as she is brilliant when you call her in.
I spent the afternoon outside doing different things around the kennels and field so I could give the dogs some reassurance.
Coosa has been fantastic he has not been fazed by any of the changes as he knows no matter who is here it will only be me that does anything with him.
Michelle went out into field two and Coosa’s field and picked up all the faeces, bones, bit of toys and any rubbish that had somehow got out there, lycan was a bit noisy but not a problem, coosa just lay in the middle of the field and watched.
I finished at about 7 pm
Tuesday morning was cold wet and windy everyone got out and only the Labrador group got wet.
I have been finding some time for paper work and advertising in the day, the only drawback to new people here is not being able to go out and leave the dogs if I need to get out in the day time.
Kirsty has called her pup from Steel Beau, he is doing really well he weighs nearly 5 1b, he is eating well and travels well in the car he does not get sick or drawl ,so she is really pleased with him.
He is a very well socialized puppy everyone in the pub thinks he is a little star.
Wednesday was a terrible start the wind and rain was absolutely awful.
We had a mad rush to get finished in time for visitors.
We had a bone collection and I had two really horrid bins to wash and disinfect and a delivery but somehow all went well, poor Michelle has been run off her feet but she is coping ok.
Steel went out in the field with Siren today and managed to get her foot stuck in the mesh on a gate, she screamed the place down so I sent Michelle to grab the bolt croppers as fast as possible as every time Steel tried to get down her foot was trapped even more ,I kept her stood up on her back legs so take as much pressure off the toes as I could, then I cut the mesh and she still stood with her foot up for a minute as I don’t think she realised her foot was free.
She has been moved away from her pups she is now in with Siren until she can be re homed, this is a pain as it’s another kennel to clean but hopefully not for too long, when Steel finds a new home then Siren can go back into a pack.
Thursday morning I was on my own as Michelle had an appointment everyone got out and stayed dry on the first exercise then it turned black and the heavens opened up, I had two groups out so I brought the whole lot in to one kennel as the other one was still not finished, this is Starr’s group and Steel and Siren, so far they have been ok but there are some interesting and pushy character’s in the group so fingers crossed as Bobby is the bottom of the pack and I am hoping they don’t start on her.
Starr and Steel are fairly evenly matched which is a little concerning.
I really enjoyed being on my own as I spent nearly all day outside with everyone ,it’s nice but it doesn’t help with getting things done inside.
Pearl came down for a visit with her puppy Kai from Camouse, and Wayakin she is a stunning little girl, well not so little for 11 weeks and very well behaved she will sit and lay down and walks nicely on the lead a very confident little girl.
Pearl has brought us a huge supply of newspaper which is great as it is so hard to get hold of now.
Kate’s boy Lobo had his bandage off today it looks good it is healing well.
Unfortunately he does look like a bob tail dog now, it is very short, and next week the stitches come out.
When the hair finally grows back hopefully it won’t look as short as it does now.
Friday morning was heavy showers and hail stones, Jo was in for her third day, she has done really well all the dogs she has worked with are responding to her without any problems.
I can now leave Jo to get on with most things when people are here or if I need to pop out quickly, so this is good in just a few days.
Saturday was ok not too much rain, Jo was working some of the time on her own as mum came over to sort out some paperwork.
In the afternoon I went out with each group of dogs and brushed some of them.
Matzi and Coosa’s groups stayed out late as I took the house dogs out as Kia and Cito needed brushing.

Sunday went really well with the cleaning Shelly has started helping out when Kate is off.
The dogs are not so easy to get in if there is someone else here, so if I get them in and out and Shelly cleans in a different area it works well, this will help out a bit, but not so good when people are viewing dos and I need someone brought in from the field.
Monday morning was a very wet day as expected, the morning exercise was shorter than usual and dogs had to be moved out of day pens into inside kennels with deep straw to dry them off.
I did the first few hours then popped out for a couple of hours to see my niece and her family as they had come over from Germany for Easter.
When I got back I did some catching up and then spent a little time sorting things out in the house before visitors arrived to see Steels pups.
All the dogs were fairly fed up with having to spend so much time in.
I spent time with each group so they did not feel like they were just in and bored.
Unfortunately I have run out of Hide chews so they didn’t have anything interesting to chew and play with while they were stuck in.
It was very bad timing as people wanted to view pups at 3.30, I would not normally have anyone in at this time of day as it interferes with the start of evening feeding and dogs going out for their last run.
This meant a really late finish which was not something I wanted with wet dogs coming in late, I didn’t finish until 7 pm outside, I had to cancel going out for dinner as the table was booked for 7 and I had no chance of getting there before at least 8.
Tuesday morning was a nice start then some heavy showers and windy.
We had to finish in reasonable time as Luna’s owners were coming to have a chat and pick her up.
I went to get some dog stuff and shavings for the kennel floors.
One of the new owners for Steels litter came to visit.
We had a labradoodle pup leave.
Kate had stayed all day so we could get some extra jobs done and then we were going to go out with Lobo and C but by the time we finished it was nearly 7 o clock.
Wednesday morning was busy as we had Hannah coming to groom the house dogs and I gave her some help were possible.
First thing in the morning I saw a lot of hair in Idaho’s kennel I could not make out where it had come from as it was not quite the right colour for her it was a little too grey.
Kate put Lobo’s group out and came rushing back in looking a little shocked, she said Lobo has cut the very end of his tail, knowing that he only has hair at the very bottom of his tail my first thoughts were oh no.
She brought him back in and we had a look at the tail, it was not hard to work out what had happened, Idaho had got hold of his tail from under the door and shredded parts of it.
We moved Lobo to his own pen were he only had a bench and nothing that could encourage an infection, he had a double dose injection of antibiotics and a rimadyl to help with the pain.
I spoke to the vet and he has an appointment for Thursday morning.
Knowing that Chani is being picked up by pet transport with a friend of mine to travel up to Yorkshire at 8 am and then Lobo in the vets for 10 am we are looking at a very hectic morning.
C will be moving into a big cage in the lounge for a while as Lulu’s pups are going to be having her 2 metre pen in the office as they need more space.
Hannah did well with the house dogs she nearly managed to do Rupert on her own which was good as he is not keen on anyone else clipping him.
The three yorkies have been bathed and tidied up.
Bon Bon the parti poodle has had a trim and bath.
Thursday morning we had an early start, Chani went off to her new home; she had a long drive but seems to be settling in well.
Lobo went to the vets and had to have half of his tail amputated, he has come home all bandaged up to keep it clean.
He will be staying in the house and pen 1 down the bottom until it has all healed up and the stitches come out in 2 weeks’ time
After we had finished we went and picked lobo up and then off to cash and carry for dog food and treats.
Kate stayed so she could be here with Lobo.
Friday morning Jo our new girl started she spent part of the morning with me and the rest with Kate.
The idea is to have two people working in separate areas so the dogs get a gradual introduction to new people and they will find it easier to learn without the pressure of dealing with so many different characters of dogs in such a short space of time.
Michelle came over for the day and after we had done most of the morning we went off to sort some things out and went for breakfast.
In the afternoon we got the pictures of Steels pups and the new labradoodle pictures for the web site.
We went out in the field with each group and got a few more pictures then came and got all the feeds ready for the evening.
Michelle helped me to get everyone finished before she went home to do her own dogs.
I spent the evening on the computer loading pictures and doing paperwork.
Saturday morning Wendy and Brian came down to trim back the rest of the hedge so the electric fence does not short out.
Jo came in as Kate went off to see her mum with Lobo for the day.{ I thought it was for the day}
The last couple of months Kate has had good and bad days, she has been very upset with things at home and not really been coping well, so when Jo came along this was going to be good as Kate could spend more time with her family.
Unfortunately Jo’s arrival was probably too late to help Kate have time to sort herself out and decide if she was staying up here with her boyfriend and his family or going back home to her mum.
Unlucky for us Kate has decided to stay with her mum,, she could also be trusted to be left alone when I was out or away..
It’s a shame because when she put her mind to it she was good at her job and had a caring side with the dogs.
The dogs are going to find the change with having to find new staff very tough for a while.
Animals need so much consideration and understanding especially the wolf dogs, they are unsettled by change at the best of times.
Brian got another side of the hedge completely cut back today, then put some panels around the bottom of the fence in the garden to stop the little dogs getting out.
After a 5.45 am start and a friend came to look at a couple of the older dogs in the evening I had an 8. 30 finish.
This will be something to look forward to for a while.
Now it will be back to interviewing idiots that think this is all about cooing over puppies, they fail to realise that this is an extremely demanding job.

WOLF DOG PUPPIES
Steel has puppies available, stunning litter of ¾ Czech pups.
The previous Sunday was really hectic with Labradoodle pups leaving, so it ended up being a really long day.
April fool’s day
This was not my best day of the week, Cito decided to pee on the kitchen floor when the back door was open, I was really not happy about this so I put the hose into the kitchen and started to wash the wee out of the door, water had got under the washing machine into the electrics and tripped the switch, I thought when it dries out it will be ok, well I was wrong.
The last thing you need to be without here is a washing machine, thankfully Wolf has ordered me one that will arrive on Tuesday morning, I can’t wait.
I let Steels pups out of the whelping box but she decided this was not acceptable and kept putting them back in, as it was causing her too much stress I shut them in again, they are now being fed 3 times a day, so soon I will take her away she will probably go in with Siren for a while until I can find a home for her
The pups can have more freedom to run around.
Kate phoned in the afternoon to say her clutch had gone on the car so she would not be in in the morning; this gave me a chance to make sure I was in front with everything.
Sunday evening was a late finish with the house dogs coming in from the field at about 7.30.
Monday morning went fairly well; thankfully I was not interrupted with too many phone calls.
It had been a very cold night as some of the outside buckets had ice in them; the fog did not clear until after 10 o clock so I couldn’t see any of the dogs while they were out in the field.
I changed all the vet beds and the house dogs bedding, this was all piled up ready for the new washing machine tomorrow morning.
When I thought I had finished the morning cleaning I went to check my emails, as soon as I walked into the office there was Steel pulling the vet bed out of the whelping box, she put on the floor outside the box and sat down quite happily.
I took the bed away from her and gave the puppies straw and shavings on the floor, I prefer to use vet bed and newspaper but sometimes it is not possible if it means the pups could get cold.
I have let the pups out of the box and hopefully Steel will accept this.
I am hoping not to move her just yet as a couple of the pups are too small.
I am struggling to keep the weight on her due to the condition she came back her in from James in Lincolnshire.
She looked like she would only have a very small litter unfortunately this wasn’t to be.
While everyone was out in the afternoon I had a couple come over to see their puppy that is staying until they have been on holiday, then I did some house work for an hour.
I thought it’s nice and warm so I will go and defrost one of the freezers ready for our meat delivery tomorrow, well I should have worn my sealskin gloves, by the time I have finished defrosting I needed to thaw out my hands I was freezing.
Kate phoned late to say her car was still not ready, so another busy day to come.
Very late night by the time I had done some of the paper work for my Poodle litter, and then I had to disconnect the washing machine.
Tuesday morning Kiro was out in the field by 6.30 as I had a feeling the washing machine would be here at 7 am and I needed to make sure she did not bark her head off and upset the neighbours.
As expected I had a call from the delivery driver to say they would be 15 minutes.
I got all the house dogs out and fed before they arrived.
The weather was very overcast and I was expecting rain so everyone was out as quick as possible and cleaned just in case they had to stay in for a while.
I spent 3 hours power washing, and run back and forth to keep up with the washing of blankets and vet beds.
Wednesday was not too good with heavy showers on and off all day, so it was rushing around making sure they did not get too wet.
I had worming, vaccinating and ear cleaning so this kept me busy for a good couple of hours.
I spent most of the day outside with everyone until 5 pm.
I got my last groups in and they were a bit wet but not too bad, then the heavens opened up and it really did not look like it was going to stop in the near future, so I went off to the vets to pick up some more vaccines and give Luna a ride out for a little more training and socialising, she was happy to meet people and really was not bothered about being at the vets, she wanted to go into the consulting room.
On the way home I decided to stop at the Rising Sun and see Kirsty and Simon, this was nice for Luna to see another wolf dog and spend some time with Lupus.
While I was there I had a chat to Kirsty about one of the male puppies on Steels litter, he is very small and was starting to get pushed out by his siblings, this was only going to get worse for him and he could not afford to go without food, we decided that it would be better for him to be taken away from the litter and raised on his own where he could have constant attention.
I spoke to my licencing officer first thing on Thursday morning and he agreed for the sake of the puppy and his wellbeing that he would be fine to leave his mum even though he is only 4 weeks old.
Kirsty and Simon came over and picked him up, he is on milk mousse and very small quantities of Royal Canin starter.
Steel has not noticed that he is not with her anymore, she probably feels she has enough with the 8 she still has.
Kirsty is looking for suggestions for a name for the little mite, and thoughts please email me. Shoshone@inuits.eclipse.co.uk
I will keep you updated on the little fellow and his progress.

Steels pup

A quick drink turned into three hours and dinner, it was a really nice evening.
The weather today has been absolutely bitter cold windy and the odd shower but nothing too much.
We had an unexpected delivery from Royal canin today I had worked it out to be next week, this was a pain as we were not really ready for it so having to quickly do some rearranging in the garage to fit 22 bags of food in before the rain slightly interfered with our day.
I was hoping for a reasonable finish but just before I got the last two groups in, people turned up and this caused mayhem, the last two groups didn’t want to come in and the rest of the dogs were so unsettled for over an hour after they had gone.
I finally settled them down and came in at nearly 7 o clock and by this time I was freezing cold and shattered.
Thursday morning was good everything went quite smoothly; after I had finished power washing we wormed every dog here which was easier than normal.
I had some work to do in the house as mother was coming for Easter and I knew she would be in spring cleaning mode.
Thursday night I was looking forward to watching the Wolf program on BBC, it was ok but nothing to get too excited about, the poodles enjoyed it, none of the dogs were impressed by the man howling but they did seem more interested when they heard the Wolves howl.
Three of the dogs started really growling when they saw the Cougar and the bear which I thought was interesting.
Friday morning we had to get finished in good time as we had visitors coming to view dogs.
We spent the afternoon cleaning out ears on the little dogs and the labs, Tease had a haematoma in her ear so I put a large needle in to drain it, not Kate’s thing she passed out so I did the rest on my own, and it took ages so we ended up running late.
When everyone was in and we had finished outside Kate and I took Lobo, Luna and C out for a walk.
This was a disaster Lobo and C were great Luna took off and we could not catch her, thankfully a man came into the park with a little black cross bred dog this made Luna very interested and he grabbed hold of her for me.
That was the end of Luna’s walk she then had to stay in the van and we took the other two.
Saturday morning was fairly easy after we had done most of the outside I left Kate to finish off and I came in to finish the blog and groom a couple of poodles.
I needed to be in front as Kate is off on Sunday.
We have a new girl starting at the end of next week so Kate will get a bit more time to go home and see here parents with Lobo.
Saturday afternoon got a little noisy as the local hunt were in the area and the quads and horses were flying around for a while so this set the smaller dogs off, but not for too long thankfully.
When there is a disturbance like the ramblers or the hunt I just leave them to bark as they are only doing what they are meant to do anyway.
Saturday evening was finishing off the end of year accounts and having a nice roast duck and glass of wine with mother.

Czechoslovakian wolf dog puppies ¾ csv ¼ Inuit from Steel and Takoda.
Last Sunday was really nice and hot the dogs were all really chilled out for the day.
We had a few visitors in the afternoon looking at Labradoodles and wolf dogs.
We have been inundated with calls for re home dogs.
Chani is now here and looking for a home as soon as possible, she is a nice bitch very gentle nature but nervous, she needs a one to one with someone understanding that has the time to put into her.
She has been out in the field with the four wolf dogs from the house and she was fine, after a while she did try and play with the others.
Then a little later I left the house door open and she did come in and lay on the sofa, she wasn’t fazed by the other ten dogs wandering around.
At bed time I put her in with Luna and C.
After a week you would not know that she had not been here for months she is a great bitch and would be good in a family.
She cannot have vast amounts of exercise as she had a broken leg when she was younger, but gentle exercise is fine.

Mya went home after her holiday. this upset Siren and Lobo as they liked being with her, now the two boys have moved into a bigger pen with Bobby .Starr and Koko so this should keep them happy.
Luna the csv who is here for training has settled in very well, she has only had one altercation with Razzle, it gave her a bit of a sock as Raz was backed up by Rupert, Ollie and C,I think she now knows her place.
Steel is doing well with her puppies, she is maintaining her weight but I think we may have to wean them at 4/5 weeks.
Steel is looking for a new home after the pups are weaned, she is a very good bitch, she can be a little on the excitable side but no real faults.
Kia is doing ok now she has had no more problems with being sick, she is taking a little more time to get over this but considering her age I am not too worried now.
Monday morning was an early start the dogs have decided it’s time to go out at first light; it was really hot so this kept them fairly content.
Visitors and phone calls went on till 9.30 in the evening I was absolutely shattered.
Tuesday morning was busy with ear cleaning and vaccinating puppies.
Even though three groups of dogs stayed out in their outside pens over night the cleaning still took as long today.
Wednesday Kate and I took Lobo C and Luna out for the evening as we have three week break from training.
It certainly attracts attention being out with three Czechs, they were all very good.
I am not as sure about Kate’s navigation skills as she had us doing a bit of mountaineering
We left Coosa and Matzi’s group in the field until we got home and coosa was sat waiting in his day kennel, he was pleased to see me and probably missing his nice straw bed.
I brought them all back down to their winter kennel as they had got me up at 5 am.

Enjoying the sunshine

Luna, Chani and C

Thursday was really nice and warm so after cleaning Kate went home and I did paperwork while everyone just slept for a couple of hours.
From 3 o’clock exercise and feeding started again and a puppy viewer came so it was a late finish.
Friday Kate and I spent the whole morning power washing while Hannah was grooming the house dogs; she did five of them so they are looking good for a couple of weeks.
As soon as we had finished cleaning the last pen we had another visitor looking at Labradoodle pups.
Saturday was really busy the hybrid puppies all went to their new homes, it was nice for all of the new owners but like all of our hybrids it’s sad when they leave as we spend so much time with them.
It will be nice to get some updates on their progress in the coming weeks.
Our owners of our last litters keep in touch and they are all doing well.
Reo has hurt his leg so he has been moved up to the top kennel this means he doesn’t have to struggle to get up the steps.
He has taken a kennel that had one of our labradoodle litters in, so they have now moved down to a puppy area where the hybrids were.
All this changing around means so much more time disinfecting pens in a hurry.
Still a number of older dogs for sale and a couple of rehomes.
Silas, Saarloos/CsV/inuit cross male with a gentle temperament. Gets on well with dogs, people and children. He responds well to training, has passed his bronze pet training , but needs more.

Silas

Last week’s blog was late going on line due to my server being down.
Kate was off on Sunday so this made for a very early start and a busy day.
Brian and Wendy came down to put the fence up to stop the little dogs from escaping.
Tudor and Janet also came down; Tudor gave Brian a hand with the fencing and took some pictures of a few of the dogs for the web site, this was quite difficult with everything going on at the time.
I will hopefully be able to get Tudor to come back with his camera when Kate is here so I can spend more time out in the field with him.
I am not really keen on summer pictures as the dogs are out of coat and this really does not show them in their true glory.
Wendy did some odd jobs that needed tiding up, while Janet and I did other things, like swapping dogs around.
Nathan came over to visit as it was mother’s day; he obviously hasn’t noticed I am putting on weight as he brought a very large box of Thornton’s chocolates.
Sunday evening I took one of the lab girls away from her pups as she had had enough of them and wanted to get back into the pack.
First thing Monday the lab I had taken from her pups was not looking very well, so a quick chat with the vet and straight to the antibiotic injection as she had a high temperature
After everyone had been out we moved the hybrid pups into a new area, this has made it easier to bring them all into the house at different times of the day.
Steel has been moved into the whelping area with her new puppies, she has 9 pups they are ¾ Czech ¼ Inuit males are 750 females are 1,000.
The afternoon went well, it was nice and sunny all the dogs were happy.
When the last lot came in I let all the house dogs out, they have the run of all 3 fields to come and go as they please.
I was surprised to see them all back down in the yard after 20 minutes, well all except Kia and Razzle.
I felt something must be wrong as C was making strange noises.
I went out in the yard and C started jumping up, I went to come back in to let one of the yorkies in and C really grabbed my arm, this is not something she would normally do, I must be honest it did rather hurt, she was trying to pull me towards the steps to go up to the field.
I called Kia and Razzle , Raz came back at full speed and went mad he was jumping up nearly reaching my face and barking like something possessed.
I called Kia again and still no sign of her so I started to go up to find her, she came towards me very slowly with her head down, you could see she was really not looking good, I bent down to give her a cuddle and thought oh my god, this is not good, her stomach was really distended. By this time I could feel the stress levels rising fast, I was shaking, Kia and Coosa are the only two that can get me really worked up, I am used to things going wrong and deal with it very calmly.
I ran down to the house and shouted everyone bed now, they all went straight in their beds.
I phoned the vet and told him I would be in within 20 minutes normally a 35/40 minute drive, then I rang Kate and said I was going so Kate arrived 10 minutes after I had left to look after the other dogs while I was out as I had no idea if this was going to turn into a torsion.
I was praying it wouldn’t as on an 11 year old bitch I knew the outcome would not be very good.
Anyway as luck would have it my vet said it is a gastric distension, and gave Kia an antibiotic and anti-emetic injection and gave me another one for the next day.
The rest of the night she was in a great deal of discomfort and very unsettled all night.
Tuesday morning the Lab bitch was fine but Kia was still unwell, she had a temperature of 104 which was really concerning me; she spent the day on the sofa on very limited water as she was still being sick and no food, she also had really bad diarrhoea which is just not her.
I spent most of the morning in the house with her trying to sort out my software on the pc, this was a waste of time as the key card I had bought on EBay was not valid so the little man from Microsoft told me, I was not too pleased about being ripped off.
The horrid person I bought it from is no longer on EBay.
I took the easy route from here I went on Curry’s web site and ordered new discs.
Kia’s temperature had dropped by the evening to 101 so I was pleased with this I thought we had come through the worse now.
Later on in the evening she started being sick again.
Wednesday morning she was still not good her temperature had risen again so I took her back to the vet and got more injections for her.
Late afternoon she was still being sick so she was now not going to be fed until Friday, this is very hard for her to understand as she really likes her food, she has dropped by 3 kilo’s in just a few days.
We had a really busy day as both Kate and I had out test at training in the evening and had to be finished in time.
The phone never stopped all day with puppy enquiries and people arranging times to come and pick their labradoodle pups at the weekend.
We finally got out to training and both C and Peaches passed, I was a little unsure if Peaches would conform as she can be very stubborn at times and Kate really can struggle with her when she decides she is point blank not going to do what you ask of her.
Both dogs will be attending the next classes which start again in May.
When we got home Kia had been very sick again and was looking really fed up so she went to bed.
Thursday morning was busy as I had to finish cleaning early to go out and do some training with one of my owners who owns a csv male.
The main points we needed to work on was jumping up. Not 100% on his recall, and jumping on other dogs to play.
He did very well, we used Cito to stop him jumping on other dogs and to help with the recall.
Then we used C for a bit more work on the recall and being a young dog it also gave him someone to play with.
All the dogs were good together I felt he just needed a little bit of a reminder who is in charge.
I finished off the kennels in the evening then did some grooming.
Friday morning was a ridiculously early start as a couple of the dogs would not shut up.
I had finished most of the kennels before Kate arrived so I left her to carry on with the last bit of cleaning and muck buckets, while I sorted out the meat delivery and did some work on advertising and registered the microchips from the last litter of Doodles.
As we had got so far in front Kate went out and picked up all the bones, faeces and other bits and pieces the dogs have taken out in the field with them.
Duke our last labradoodle boy who has been staying while his owners were away has gone to his new home today.
The afternoon was nice and Sunny so I spent some time out with the dogs in the field.
Kia had her second feed and so far she has been ok and seems to be looking a little more like her old self.
Saturday morning was very busy, straight after cleaning we had 4 visitors come to view their pups.
At lunch time Luna a 13 month old csv bitch came in, as her owners want me to do some training with her.
Luna is a kiro- Reo daughter.
I spent some time with her I also had Kia ,cito and C out in the yard together before taking them all up the field.
Luna was good she got on with the other dogs and came back whenever I called her.
When we came back in the house she was penned with C, this she was not so keen on, by the time I came back she had settled down.
In the evening she was in the house with the rest of the pack and coped quite well with 12 other dogs of different breeds and sizes.
Wendy and Brian came down to put up a panel in one of the day kennels.
Brian also did some hedge trimming so the electric fence doesn’t short out when everything starts to grow as we head into summer.

18 March Mother’s Day blog
Wolf Hybrid pups now are all reserved.
Deposits now being taken for our next planned litter from Soul and Reo.
Soul will be in season in October / November pups should be ready to leave in February 2013.
We are taking 6 deposits; two reservations have already been confirmed
There maybe a litter earlier in the year if we have enough demand for puppies the sire would be Matzi.
Sunday morning was another three hours shopping for dog toys and treats at Crufts.
After my weekend away I got home early on Sunday evening and gave Kate a hand to finish off outside.
We unloaded the van as Kate was as excited as the dogs to see what I had bought, the house dogs were straight into the bags, they all had the Stag bars and ran off to chew on one, they are a great natural treat and very good for occupying most dogs.
Kate was absolutely exhausted she had a hard weekend without a great deal of sleep as she has a poodle bitch and a litter of pups in her bedroom; they are only a few days old.
Kate had no puppy viewers as this is too time consuming when you are on your own; she just had to answer several phone enquiries and emails.
I touched base with her on a regular basis to check everything was going well and pick up on messages.
Monday morning I was woken up not by the dogs but a very inconsiderate person enquiring about an older dog we have for sale.
After the morning cleaning I had to catch up on paperwork and emails while Kate did the dogs.
After I had finished the boring stuff I went and spent time with all the pups and Coosa, he had defiantly missed me more than most of the other dogs.
Kate and I had a chat about Steels feeding as she is underweight after having the puppies, before she whelped she looked like she may have 4 or 5, this would not have been too bad, but she has had 9.
We have now put her onto 4 feeds a day as opposed to my own bitches that are on two feeds.
Siren has been moved into the pen with Lobo and Mya as Kate is off at the weekend and wants to take Lobo with her.
It would not have been fair to have left Mya on her own.
Tuesday morning was busy with power washing, then we hoovered and de cobwebbed the top kennel block, this is a job we both dislike, I hate the dust and Kate hates the spiders.
The office pens were all stripped out and the walls washed, this is a monthly job so it’s not too bad.
A friend came down and brought us sacks of newspaper which we were desperately in need of this was fantastic, the reason for the visit was to spend time with her hybrid female pup, which has now been moved into the house to spend time with our dogs before she leaves in a couple of weeks’ time.
She will be joining Meli, Zamu, Kanti, Koda, and a couple more wolf dogs, she will have a fantastic life, and she couldn’t have gone to a better family.
Meli and Zamu are both doing really well and very happy in their new home.
The grey male hybrid will be moving into the house on Sunday to be crate trained before he leaves, this will only leave two pups so they may be moved to a different pen and Steel may be moved into the whelping area.
Wednesday morning cleaning went well.
Hannah our groomer was in for the day doing the house dogs, all of which she just got on with and made a very nice job with the clipping and grooming.
We had to get finished in reasonable time as it was our inspection from the Kennel Club for the Assured breeder’s scheme for our Labs, poodles, yorkie and Cocker spaniels.
Even though the Scheme has nothing to do with any of our Wolf dogs or Labradoodles or any other mixed breed we have, the inspection included every dog and puppy on the premises, and this was fine with me anyway as we have always been open to visitors and have no reason not to let people see the kennels.
We do ask people to be considerate enough to make an appointment as it is very inconvenient if one of us is doing the dogs and the other may be whelping a litter or microchipping a litter.
Also some people travel a considerable distance to visit and I feel it is unfair to cut their time short for someone who cannot be bothered to ring first.
We pride ourselves on having exceptional high standards, the kennels are immaculate at all times and the welfare of every dog here is of the upmost importance.
The inspection was just over two hours and the lady who I won’t name was very impressed as she told us several times.
She also stated that she would certainly not consider the kennels to be a puppy farm but a very exceptional commercial breeding establishment.
This is something I have always known but it was nice to hear it from an official of the kennel club.
She has taken quite a few pictures of the dogs and the kennels.
She has said she would like us on board with the breeder scheme, next week we will get a written report and conformation of the decision.
I just had time to order the mesh for the outer fencing to stop the small dogs from going through the wire; this will be put up at the weekend, peace of mind that the Yorkies don’t go off visiting the village again.
We fed everyone and then went to training, Peaches was not herself she was a little stroppy and not bouncy and did not appear to be enjoying herself as much as normal.
C was very good and worked really well; this was her last week before her test next Wednesday.
I have no reason to think that there will be a problem as she has been very good throughout the course.
Thursday morning was a bit dull and drizzly but the rain held off so that was good.
Coosa and the wolf dogs in the house all had a brush.
We had a big meat delivery that took ages to pack away.
As the weather got a bit unsettled, early evening I got the house dogs out then went and spent time with all of the dogs in their kennels.
Friday morning was hard, as I had hoped to be doing paper work but Kate was having a blonde day so I ended up outside most of the day, then the evening was shopping then home to finish off paper work for the end of the year accounts.
Saturday morning was a really early start as Kate was leaving early and I needed to get in front with as much as possible as I knew Sunday would be exceptional busy with fencing.
I had all the house dogs done and pups had their first clean out and all the pups were wormed, then Kate arrived at 7.30 and we did the rest of the dogs.
As the small dogs now know they can get out I have to go out in the field with them and this takes up time that could be used more constructively.
Thankfully this should not be a problem as soon as the new fence is done.
After Kate left I had most of the dogs either in the field or in outside pens all the towels and vets beds hanging out to dry as it seemed like such a nice day, well not quite while I was defrosting the freezer ,I suddenly heard the pounding of rain on the roof.
By the time I had got everyone in we were all drowned, then I had to spin all the washing again.
The sun came out for a few minutes then the biggest hail storm I have ever seen, the little dogs were out Oh my did they scream I think they thought they were being bombed.
The weather did not improve at all, everyone came in before five and had dinner and raw hide cows ears.
Thankfully there was not much left outside to do.
